DR. KOJO CAREW
M.D, FWACP (FM)
Dr. Kojo Carew is a Sierra Leonean. He attended The Prince of Wales (POW), Freetown, Sierra Leone He proceeded to A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine, University of Liberia, Monrovia, Liberia, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1980. Dr Carew is a Fellow, West African College of Physicians (FWACP) specializing in Family Medicine.
With over 40 years’ experience as a medical practitioner, Dr Carew pioneered Postgraduate Medical Training in Sierra Leone and established three (3) hospitals in Freetown Sierra Leone, including Curney Barnes Memorial Hospital, Netland Hospital and Blue Shield Hospital. He is also the founder of Integrative Medicine West Africa, an association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners in West Africa.
During the Sierra Leone War from 1991 to 2002, Dr. Carew managed the only functional hospital in Freetown, in collaboration with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) that treated thousands of war victims.
At two (2) small, overworked clinics in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, he and his wife, Dr. Lynette Palmer, treated victims of the vicious warfare that plagued their country for more than eight (8) years.
Again, during the outbreak of the hemorrhagic fever (Ebola) in West Africa in 2013, Dr. Carew worked on inactivating and neutralizing the Ebola virus, thus breaking the transmission of the disease and preventing a pandemic. He championed the rapid resolution of hemorrhagic fever (Ebola) in Sierra Leone with ozone therapy. Other notable works include; developing new Protocols for inactivating and neutralizing other viruses in-vitro and safely in-vivo, reducing the period of morbidity and reducing mortality rates with some acute, chronic, and life-threatening conditions such as sickle cell crisis, thrombo-embolic crises, strokes, myocardial infarction (MI), et cetera.
Dr. Carew has been a Trainer and Examiner for the West African College of Physicians in the Faculty of Family Medicine for over 20 years. He is the chairman of the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Medical and Dental Council of Sierra Leone (MDCSL). Dr. Carew is the Author of the current Code of Medical Ethics for Sierra Leone.

He is an active advocate for bettering the lives of people using the best of science and nature and has worked globally, including in Europe, Asia, North America, and in many countries in Africa.
